I am going to complete my undergraduate degree in May at an American institution. I have the option of studying for my MBA straight afterwards (free of charge at the number 1 program in southern USA) but am unsure as to how employers will look at me since I will have little experience but have an mba. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I don't know the right answer, but it might be a good idea to speak to a careers advisor or perhaps even be bold and ask a few companies who are recruiting for the jobs you want or expect to be qualified for following an MBA. The advisers should give you some solid independent advice and the employers may indicate whether that you'll get ahead with more education, or if experience is needed.

It is very important to have an experience in the office setup before you continue, even if its being attached to an organization for some months.apart from being worried about the employer, the practical experience would help you determine what you want to specialize in on your career.

Never underestimate how valuable office experience of any sort is - you'll build a much stronger case for being hired if you can draw on previous roles of any kind on your CV and at interview. Having the know-how without experience might lead you to being ruled out for a role.

I would say that it depends on what your degree/MBA is. Some industry sectors are more experience led than others. Everyone has their own opinions if it was them in this situation. I would do the MBA and gain experience at the same time. Afterall giving up the chance to get an MBA free of charge would be crazy talk...but the only person who can decide whats best for you is you. Good luck.
