Q&A

driving license graduate banking job
Posted by Claudia
I'm in the final year of my undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics and am hoping to apply for a job in banking next year. I was wondering what the general feeling was about having a drivers license. I'm short on money, but am willing to learn to drive if it will improve my chances of getting into a graduate training programme in the banking sector. Looking forward to hearing peoples' opinions.

Driving shouldn't be a necessity for a banking job - the only travelling you tend to be expected to do and fund yourself on a regular basis will be getting to work. Any other travel should be provided by your employer. So unless you think you'll need a car to get to and from work, you best of learning to drive when you can comfortably afford it.
