How many graduates / interns do you take on?
In 2010 we are looking for 100 individuals globally. If you are seeking your first role after university or a new challenge after completing an MBA or your next step professionally, we recruit into different management levels according to your level of experience.
What disciplines do the graduates / interns go into?
There are currently 380 International Managers working in 57 of the 86 countries and territories that HSBC operates in. We expose our IMs to different business lines and customer groups to build their general management skills.
If you want to specialise in one country or in a particular area of banking, the IM Programme is not for you.
Due to the global nature of the IM programme, we are unable to offer internships.
When are your intakes?
The closing date for applications is the 31st March 2010. The recruitment team will be holding selection centres in Dubai, Hong Kong, Chicago, London and Mexico City up to the end of June, intakes will then continue until December 2010. If you are unable to start in 2010, the 2011 recruitment season will re-open in September 2010.
The IM programme is a long term commitment not just a graduate scheme, you will be expected to work globally in different locations and business areas throughout your career. Initially your assignments will be for approximately 18 months, increasing to 24 - 36 months per assignment as your career progresses.
